Smart home mobile app

Our team has extensive cross-platform development expertise and built one of our Norway-based customers a security app that connects to various sensors to keep homes safe.

Client. Our client is an Oslo-based electronics manufacturer specializing in safety and IoT devices for homes, commercial premises, boats, and energy systems. To compete with a strong national rival, they set out to build a user-friendly app that would let customers monitor their home security from a smartphone.

What we did. Working side by side with the client’s in-house team, we built a cross-platform smart home app using Flutter. The solution is deployed on AWS, ensuring secure and well-organized data storage. Users can control every device in the house, from smoke detectors to smart door locks, through a central hub, and group devices by home and room.

They can also invite family members and outside parties, such as installers, each with their own access rights. Our team integrated several smart lock systems as well, which allows users to check lock status in real time and open doors remotely.

Results and value delivered. The client launched the app in the Norwegian market, where it was adopted by 70,000 homes in its first year, giving the company a notable competitive edge.

Our team relied on hands-on expertise in fitness app development to deliver an interactive walking solution for a Sportif AS, Norwegian healthcare startup.

Client. Sportif AS is a Bergen-based consultancy with 20+ employees that develops digital solutions for public health problems. The company joined Norwegian government bodies on a healthcare initiative aimed at getting people to walk more, and needed to build the app on a tight deadline.

What we did. Our dedicated development team began with a rapid yet comprehensive discovery phase, which showed the original scope wouldn’t meet the deadline. To align with the client’s business goals, we doubled the number of specialists on the team. Leobit’s experts ran multiple tasks in parallel, developing native versions of the app with Kotlin for Android and Swift for iOS. Both apps track walking routes via GPS and count steps through Google Fit and HealthKit.

To keep users motivated, we added weekly challenges and leaderboards where they can compete with friends and colleagues. Sportif AS runs events and user groups from a web admin panel we built with Angular and .NET.

Results and value delivered. Within a few months of the project’s start, Sportif AS presented the app to the government bodies, who approved its official launch. We hit the deadline, and the client fulfilled its obligations, strengthening its positioning in the Norwegian IT market.

The Leobit team built an app that helps construction managers monitor site progress, with a rich set of automation features including AI-powered detection of quality issues.

Client. Our client is a leading construction company in the Nordic region, based in Norway and operating in the industry for almost 20 years. It works across a wide range of projects, from housing to roads and tunnels. As the number of end-customers grew, our client faced operational inefficiencies that needed to be addressed. For instance, to check progress, foremen had to visit each site in person, which often caused delays and let quality issues slip through.

What we did. We built a cross-platform Flutter app that lets workers report progress from the field with photos and order materials for the next stage. Our team trained AI models to detect structural defects such as wall cracks and misaligned corners.

The client initially wanted to run the models on workers’ phones, but we recommended hosting them on Azure GPU servers instead, which made image analysis faster and more accurate. Our specialists also built an AR guidance feature with an offline mode available. It allows workers to visualize their work using photos taken from the right angle.

Results and value delivered. The client measured 92.7% accuracy in detecting defects with our AI construction progress tracking solution. Foremen now track multiple sites remotely and make fewer site visits. They confirm or dismiss each AI alert, and that feedback continuously improves the models over time.

We helped a sportstech startup build a platform for cycling enthusiasts, letting them track individual progress and engage with like-minded riders.

Client. A group of Norwegian developers and cycling fans founded this sportstech startup to make indoor training more immersive. They built and successfully launched their app, but faced issues when the solution couldn’t keep up with its growing user base.

What we did. To scale the solution, we moved the platform to Azure and rebuilt it as microservices on .NET. Our dedicated software development team also added live streaming so instructors can teach classes remotely, and optimized the platform’s competition mode, which ranks riders on studio screens in real time. We also delivered a Flutter app for home workouts and integrated the solution with the client’s embedded bike computers, which measure cadence and power for more accurate session tracking.

Results and value delivered. Following our work on the platform, a leading US indoor cycling hardware manufacturer acquired the client’s startup. The app now has 60K+ installs on the App Store and Google Play, and riders have completed 2.5 million workouts on the platform.

Leobit helped a large Swedish enterprise optimize its legal workflows with a contract management tool powered by AI automation algorithms.

Client. Our client is a Swedish automotive enterprise with 10,000+ employees. Its legal and procurement teams rely on clear contract workflows, but each key account team manages its own documents with no central version control. Collaboration happened in a separate tool disconnected from the rest of the system, which made some of our client’s operations disorganized and time-consuming.

What we did. We built a custom web platform that compares each new contract against the baseline contracts in the company’s database. It flags changed or missing clauses and shows how far each one deviates from the standard. Using models from Azure OpenAI, the tool explains every change in plain language, in English or Swedish. Users can comment on specific sections and assign tasks to colleagues, and every edit is versioned and logged for a full audit trail. The platform connects to Microsoft 365, so alerts go to Teams and files are stored in SharePoint.

Results and value delivered. The AI contract management software helps the client’s legal and compliance teams review contracts up to 50% faster. All contract work now happens in one secure place, with access rights set for each individual section. This functionality allows our customer to improve workflow organization as well as security and compliance.

We helped a Swedish logistics company fix fragmented workflows with an AI-powered solution tailored to its business model.

Client. Our client is a global delivery company based in Sweden, with 5,000+ employees handling thousands of shipments every day. The client faced significant operational inefficiencies: processes were fragmented, paperwork was done by hand, and customers couldn’t track their parcels in real time.

What we did. Leobit submitted a request for proposal with a detailed description of shipment tracking software that would cover the customer’s needs. As a result, we established a long-term collaboration spanning over five years. Our specialists redesigned the client’s existing system completely, moving it from on-premises servers to Azure and connecting it to carrier APIs and the client’s ERP. End-customers now get an automatic SMS or email whenever their shipment status changes.

We also implemented several AI features, including a smart assistant that explains customs rules in plain language and classification models that recognize customs declarations and invoices automatically. From there, we moved into a structured AI transformation, helping the client build a multi-agent system where each agent owns one area of the business. For example, when a shipment is held up in customs, the logistics AI agent updates the documents and proposes a new route.

Results and value delivered. The solution reduced manual document review by nearly 64% and decreased “Where is my package?” inquiries by more than 55%. Carrier selection is now fully automated, accelerating workflows across the client’s logistics network.

Leobit relied on its deep sportstech industry expertise to deliver an interactive, multi-tenant streaming app for a Swedish company Antourage.

Client. Antourage is a sportstech startup from Stockholm. They run a platform that streams what happens behind the scenes at sports events, helping teams and athletes get closer to their fans. Antourage wanted to modernize their platform and expand it with a cross-platform mobile app that would complement regular game broadcasts.

What we did. Our dedicated software development team started with an MVP. The original scope included an admin panel and a broadcaster app for Android and iOS, letting football teams and leagues go live and send streams to YouTube and other platforms. After collecting user feedback, we stabilized the system and built viewer widgets for mobile and web. We then moved the infrastructure to AWS and added the widgets to the app of one of the most popular football leagues.

Results and value delivered. Over 4 years, the platform grew into a scalable broadcasting system that adjusts video quality to each viewer’s connection. Sports organizations use in-stream chats and polls to engage their fans. The app also won Leobit a Web Excellence Award.

Leobit helped a large sustainability-oriented company adapt its re-commerce reporting platform to rapid business growth.

Client. Our client is a GreenTech enterprise in Stockholm with 2,500+ employees and a leader in circular tech services across the Nordics. Every year, it refurbishes over 1.5 million devices. In 2022 alone, that prevented 120,948 tons of CO2 equivalent. Fast growth had left its data spread across several ERP systems, forcing the client to put vendor reports together by hand, which was time- and effort-intensive. The client needed a solution that would help them automate these workflows.

What we did. In 6 months, Leobit’s team consisting of 10 specialists built a reporting portal from scratch with .NET and Angular. We integrated the solution with an ingestion API that collects large volumes of data from different sources and stores it in Amazon Redshift. Dashboards show each customer the CO2 footprint and e-waste impact of their devices. Users choose from ready-made report templates and filter data by column. The portal also tracks parcels of reused electronics, and users can download settlement reports and see which invoices are paid.

Results and value delivered. The client now has standardized vendor reports, with shipping and documentation fully automated. Its customers can report their sustainability progress openly and track it against their ESG goals. The solution also supported the client’s growth, contributing to Nordic Capital, a private equity investor focused on sustainable growth, acquiring a majority share in the venture.

Leobit’s software modernization and engineering specialists helped a Finnish company optimize its waste management system.

Client. Our client is a logistics software company in Helsinki with 20+ employees, building cloud and sensor solutions that help Nordic waste management companies plan collection routes. Its Android app had already been migrated from Java to Flutter, but the migration left behind a disorganized architecture that caused performance issues and glitches. The client wanted to fix this but needed additional Flutter expertise to handle the modernization properly.

What we did. Our Flutter team completed the migration and re-engineered the app on the BLoC architecture. We split the code into modules with separate layers, so future changes to business logic or the back end stay contained. Our QA specialists covered the core functions with unit and widget tests, then set up CI/CD and a formal code review process.

Using the HERE SDK, the app plans routes for garbage trucks and shows container locations on a map, and works offline so route progress isn’t lost when the connection drops. We also wrote the architectural documentation the solution had been missing.

Results and value delivered. We found and fixed over 1,000 code issues, turning the app into a maintainable, scalable product. The new review process also helps the in-house team work more efficiently. The client’s end customers now use the upgraded solution to reduce the number of bins they need, with savings of up to 35–40%.
