Leobit has developed a PoC for an AI-powered icon generator that creates stylistically consistent icons based on user prompts. The solution uses generative AI to process inputs of varying complexity and deliver simple yet prompt-accurate icons in a consistent style. The tool automatically generates multiple design variations. The users can quickly choose the most fitting option, refine, and finalize the produced icon.
During this project, we explored how generative AI could make design workflows faster, smoother, and a bit less repetitive – without taking control away from designers. The tool has a great potential for further optimization through the addition of new AI models, configurations, and icon styling requirements.

It was Leobit’s internal project designed to explore the capabilities of AI-powered image generation tools like FLUX.1-Kontext-pro and GPT-Image-2. It also resulted in a solid tool that can support our design team in simple graphic design tasks.

Our team developed the solution in approximately three weeks. The work focused on integrating modern generative AI models with a user-friendly design interface and secure back-end infrastructure.
The Leobit team started by analyzing available AI models that could be used for prompt-based icon creation. We decided to use FLUX.1-Kontext-pro and GPT-Image-2 as the primary models for generating visually consistent, high-quality icons. Our specialists designed a system that could support style templates and iterative icon refinement.
The solution integrates both generative models to produce icon variations. FLUX.1-Kontext-pro handles context-aware image generation, while GPT-Image-2 provides alternative interpretations of user prompts. The AI models are triggered through an automated API layer that processes user prompts and style parameters to generate two distinct icon variations per request.
Our specialists used .NET to build a simple backend that efficiently orchestrates API calls to generative AI models. The Leobit team also constructed a responsive interface using Angular and Tailwind CSS. Upon minor tool optimization, we delivered a usable AI-powered PoC that can facilitate our internal design workflows.
AI-Powered Icon Generation
The tool allows users to input descriptive prompts and select visual styles. AI models generate two distinct icon variations in seconds, each matching the specified style template. The dual-variation approach encourages exploration and comparison, allowing designers to select the best outcome. They can also refine generated icons using AI prompts, which ultimately reduces the need for manual post-processing.
Style Configuration for Brand Consistency
The solution offers predefined style templates – outlined and filled designs – that maintain consistent visual language across all generated icons. Users can set brand guidelines through template selection, ensuring every generated icon aligns with organizational aesthetics. This systematic approach eliminates style drift and reduces the need for manual revisions of generated icons.
Searchable Icon Library
Generated icons are automatically stored in a searchable library within Azure Blob Storage. As a result, teams can maintain a growing repository of branded icons. The gallery interface supports quick filtering and retrieval, allowing designers to reuse icons across projects and campaigns without regeneration. Instant download functionality allows direct export in standard formats, automating the integration with design tools and digital products.
