MuleSoft Integration Engineer (part-time)

Our client is a U.S. based industrial distributor specializing in hose assemblies, fittings, and engineered fluid transfer solutions for industries such as manufacturing, oil & gas, and food & beverage. Offers both standard and custom-engineered products with services like cutting, crimping, and pressure testing. Operates multiple U.S. locations, focusing on rapid response, technical expertise, and streamlined inventory and customer service through ERP.

We are looking for a part-time MuleSoft Integration Engineer to join our team and design and implement a robust integration between Prophet21 (ERP system) and FirstShift.ai (workforce management platform). This role requires strong hands-on experience with the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, API-led connectivity, SFTP-based integrations, and complex system integrations. You should be comfortable working with ERP systems, performing data transformations, and building scalable, secure, and high-performing integration solutions.

Requirements:

• Three years of working experience with MuleSoft development (at least)
• Strong hands-on experience with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform
• Solid knowledge of API-led architecture (System, Process, Experience APIs)
• Experience with SFTP, REST, and SOAP-based integrations
• Strong skills in DataWeave for data transformation
• Experience integrating ERP systems (Prophet21 or similar ERP platforms)
• Understanding of authentication methods (OAuth 2.0, Basic Auth, API Keys, SFTP credentials)
• Experience with error handling, logging, and monitoring tools
• MuleSoft certification (would be a plus)
• Experience integrating ERP systems with AI or workforce management platforms (would be a plus)
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines for MuleSoft deployments (would be a plus)
• Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure) (would be a plus)
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, or similar
• English level: Upper-Intermediate (at least)

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop integration flows using MuleSoft Anypoint Platform
• Build and implement APIs and SFTP-based data transfers to enable data exchange between Prophet21 and FirstShift.ai
• Develop data transformations using DataWeave (JSON, XML, CSV formats)
• Ensure reliable synchronization of business data (orders, inventory, workforce data, etc.)
• Implement error handling, logging, monitoring, and performance optimization
• Conduct integration testing and support UAT
• Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to define integration requirements
• Document architecture, APIs, and integration workflows
• Ensure security best practices in API design, SFTP transfers and data exchange
